The long overdue post -- Dinner & Dance '07

Been wanting to blog about the very eventful day when my company D&D was held... but as usual, i couldn't find time to do it, hence the very overdue post hehe...

D&D created such a hype even a month before the actual event mainly due to the very weird and unsuitable (in my opinion) theme of "aloha" and the huge number of people its going to involve. The dinner involves up to 100 tables, ~2000 employees and 2 Suntec convention halls... lolx...

As usual, girls are easily more excited and perplexed by the so-called theme... and the question of what to wear was commonly heard. The very adventurous newbie girl friends i have decided to wear a sarong just in one piece, by tying it around our neck like a halter dress...

And somehow, i got psycho-ed to do the same. Blame it on my lack of time to shop for a hawaiian dress...

But in the end, all 3 of us didn't wear it as intended haha... as the sarongs turned out to be of very thin material and a tad too short for the 2 tall girls... As for me, my conservative-ness got the better of me haha...

Before presenting the D&D photos, i really must mention how unlucky i was that day!

1) I was well and fine leaving home for work but ended up taking this freezing cold bus and sitting next to a sick colleague at meeting, causing me to end up having serious flu by the end of the day =S

2) We were granted off time (which is so rare for my company doesn't even give half days on christmas and new year eves (and i heard cny eve too! boo) but just when i was getting too happy about it things didn't go according to plan. Had urgent things, plus cross-fab issues to settle. And my equipment had to keep coming up with weird weird faults that not many can solve =S

By the time i left the company, it was already 6pm! we were supposed to be able to get off work at 430pm and D&D starts at 630pm, so imagine how late i was. And the worst thing was that i had some newbie friends waiting for me to get ready so that we can share a cab there... the new policy of 35% extra cab charge for peak hours certainly doesn't help.

So by the time we reached there it was like 830pm...oops. missed the door gifts as well as lucky draw chances =( but we were just in time for the dishes though lolx...

All in all, quite an eye-opener to such a big event. And especially enjoyed all the photo-taking sessions hee... though the program wasn't very nice and it felt kind of awkward to eat with my department too (don't usually eat lunch with them haha...)

Yea that's about it. Probably the one and only post about D&D for the time being as the company D&D is only once every 2-3 years lol...
