Off on a weekday :)
For those who don't already know, i've been on the swing shift for the past 2 weeks. Swing shift is my company's way of naming a shift whereby one works on a weekend instead of a weekday. So yeah, i've been put on a Sunday shift that lasts for 3 weeks. Meaning i work from Sunday to Thursday and Friday is my off day! =D
my first Friday off felt like a big break to me as the previous week i only had a Saturday off and have been working OT, some till 9pm as well... But as i had unfinished work, i did work from home in the day before going out shopping in the afternoon... and i must say, the feeling is like taking a forbidden break... although i know i'm perfectly entitled to it haha... Somehow, it just feels wrong to be out shopping on a Friday when almost everyone i know is hard at work... On the other hand, it reminded me a bit of my previous school holidays, when i was still able to go out and play on a weekday and the presence of so many school teenagers in orchard (it was the one week holiday for school kids last week) just adds on to it hee...
Today's my second Friday off and i'm truly beginning to enjoy getting a Friday off =) There are so many things that i can get done on a weekday much easier than on a weekend -- shopping, cutting hair, seeing the doctor, seeing the dentist, trimming eyebrows, watching movie etc... having some time for myself to relax or rather nua the day off is pretty great as well.
But well, all good things come at a price cos... i don't really like the feeling of working on Sundays... The feeling that you are working on everyone else's holiday, the empty office, the lack of nice colleagues to gossip and have lunch with, the general loneliness and silence of the place... i guess i'm pretty glad that i'm going back on normal shift soon hehe...
