last day

after so much counting down and looking forward to the 16th of june, it has finally arrived.

no wonder people say last days always pass very quickly. mine did. spent my whole 8 hours slacking today yet time seemed to pass so fast. went to look at the microscope abit, then went for break. my last break in my company canteen. then near noon, we went JP crystal jade for farewell lunch. their treat.. think its very nice of them =) then came back and talked and listened to crap with the lab people, then went HR to return my employment pass, then gave away my sweets, then talked to supervisor and fellow IA interns for a while, then said good bye to everyone, took last bus ride in the free company bus home~

notice anything missing?

i didn't get to take any photos with them. so sad. cos i didn't have a camera even if i did they happened to be very busy today so they didn't really have time for me too. sigh~

feeling very she3 bu4 de2 (cannot bear to leave) now. its funny how i kept willing this day to come (although part of the reason was cos i was transferred to lab. lab people were nice but i just wasnt close to them than my original department) and when it has finally arrived i feel more sad than happy.

i'm not sad about leaving the work i have to do there. (it gets boring after a while). i'm not sad about the fact that i don't have to wake up at 6am every morning liao. i'm not sad about no more company canteen food for me. but the mere thought that i would probably not see them ever again in the future is enough to make tears well up in my eyes le =(

maybe i'm still not used to the "come-and-go" style of working life and the outside world. people quit, new people get employed, and life still goes on as per normal for those people that are there. they perhaps won't notice my absence as time goes on. although i do hope that they will remember me as the only IA student (so far) to be part of their lunch company.

wow.. what a long entry. ending off with some memories i had there hopefully even with no photos i'll always remember my attachment there...

jan ~ first day there was intimidating and boring. was wondering how i can interact with a department of 10 other guys. joined in my present lunch company after a week there, cos my colleague took pity on me when he saw me eat alone once. had very little to do so much so that i asked around the engineers hoping that there was something i could help with.

feb ~ lunching out was fun. we even took cab.. that was how sick they were of the food center food. lunching out with supervisor was fun too.. scrapping parts became a daily routine for me, my fingernails were constantly painted in red and i was "suaned" the expert in part scrapping.

march ~ first and last OTs. (did 2 OTs in all). can still remember the panicky feeling of rushing urgent work during my OTs. never did i expect my unpaid OTs to come with some reward.

no more part scrapping for me but i was to teach inspectors to scrap parts. so i became part-scrapping teacher liao.

colleagues kenna process review so i also kenna helping out in it. process review reveals many many dark sides.. eye opener for me.

apr ~ colleague M from lunch company leaving. had a farewell party at IMM. felt very sweet that they included me in it even though 10 of us had to squeeze in a 7-seater. first time i felt included in the group (of working adults).

may ~ colleague N announced his upcoming marriage (and stunned everyone). so honoured that he invited me too although i didn't go in the end.

new IA interns coming in. finally had company for breakfast, it was really nice to eat breakfast with them. nice to have new students in my own department as well.. i suddenly became an upperstudy.

office politics in my department. people come people go.. quite amazed at the number of changes in the mere 6 months i'm here. even people who have been here for 5 years can leave.

june ~ transferred to lab dept. was quite a hard time for me to re-adapt to a whole new environment. i guess it sort of ease my leaving of my own dept today though. wasn't very happy there although i do admit that i have learnt much more relevant stuff there.

despite this IA being not in my choices and the initial resist in learning non-chem engin stuff, today i must say i'm really glad to have my IA in my company and my department. hope i will get to know people as nice as my colleagues when i go to work in future.
